Aim:
KG is the bridge between Nursery and Class 1. The focus is on equipping children with the necessary skills, knowledge and concepts,
to make them independent, give them the ability to express themselves confidently in speech and writing, to be aware of th world they live
in, to develop scientific inquiry skills, to be able to carry out mathematical processes etc.
Curriculum:
Language: (English and Urdu) reading, comprehending and writing in correct sentences, paragraphs, stories,
picture stories, descriptions and riddles. Use of prepositions, nouns, verbs, adjectives, conjunctions, pronouns, adverbs in speech and in writing.
Spellings of commonly used words. Vocabulary development, differentiate between masculine and feminine form, opposites, making plurals.
By the end of the year, chilren are expected to write sentences, paragraphs, stories, riddles ...
Textbooks: The best available are selected, some are especially imported.
From, 2021 the books of the Single National Curriculum (SNC) will be implemented in keeping with governement guidelines.
Concepts: Islamiyat and General Knowledge (Science and Social Studies) are taught from a well structured curriculum prepared by LSL teachers. The topics are introduced with activities, experiments and project work. In Nursery all the concepts are done orally whereas in KG written work is also done in notebooks and worksheets.
Skills: Life skills or Exercises of Practical Life Skills are taught according to the curriculum; Art and Craft activities to support the project work and concepts.
School Day: From 08:00 am to 02:00 pm the day is divided into 8 periods of 35/40 minutes duration and 2 breaks, 30 minutes and 10 minutes.
